IDEAL MORNING ROUTINE AS ADVISED BY AYURVEDA
Ayurveda lays utmost importance on having a healthy morning routine. A good routine helps in preventing many chronic diseases, aids digestion, and helps in promoting eternal humane qualities such as peace, discipline, longevity, and happiness.
Ayurveda recommends the routine below for a healthy and energetic lifestyle. Let’s see them one by one: -
WAKING UP EARLY BEFORE THE SUN
It is always advised in Ayurveda to wake up before the sun for true peace of mind. Kapha people should wake up by 4:30 AM, Pitta people by 5:30 AM, and Vata people by 6:00 AM. All the successful people today, whether in tech or art, are early risers.
CLEAN YOUR WHOLE FACE & EYES
Wash your face thoroughly with cold water and rinse your mouth. Fill your mouth with water and splash water into your eyes. Then take a clean towel and dry your face.
DRINK WATER IN THE MORNING
Now, drink a glass of water from a copper utensil. It is advised to keep water at room temperature. This washes the GI track, flushes the kidneys, and also helps in treating constipation.
CLEANING TEETH & TONGUE
Clean your teeth with a soft toothbrush and herbal toothpaste. In some rural areas of India, people still use neem sticks and roasted almond shell powder to clean their teeth. A scraper helps clean the tongue from back to forward. The scraping tongue stimulates internal organs and helps indigestion.
NASYA DROPS IN NOSE
Putting 3 to 5 drops of warm ghee or oil into the nose helps in lubricating the nose and cleaning the sinuses. Nose drops are also helpful in nourishing the brain.
EXERCISING/PHYSICAL WORKOUT
Ayurveda always advises having a proper workout regime in one’s lifestyle. Regular exercise like Yoga, improves blood circulation, digestion, strength, and endurance. So, exercise until sweat forms on your forehead, armpits, and spine.
BATHING & PERFUMES
Bathing is important to fully clean and refresh your body. It is important not only to remove sweat or dirt but also to bring holiness in one’s life. One can also use herbal perfumes to bring vitality to improve self-esteem.
MEDITATION
It’s also important in Ayurveda to take care of mental health too. To achieve that, we have Meditation. Meditation is known to bring peace and clarity of mind that one needs.
BREAKFAST AT LAST
After following all the rituals, you should have breakfast at the end. In the months of summer, you should have a light breakfast and in winters you should have a substantially heavy breakfast.
These were some of the morning habits as advised by Ayurveda. Someone said it so true that when you conquer your morning, you conquer your whole day. AyurvedGuruwas established by Dr Manoj Virmani in 1996 for treating chronic diseases with natural remedies and medicines. Dr Virmani says that we can treat 90% of our diseases and get healthy if we follow our traditional system of treating medicines.
